Why poor people cannot fall sick?

I'm having a severe ulceration now, it's has been a month and situation is just getting worse. Although ulcer is not something new to me, but this is the worst situation I ever have. 2 or 3 major ulcers and 10 -15 minor ulcers on my throat, tongue, lips and gum. I cannot eat, because it hurts. Drinking water is another torture and I cannot even speak if I have not taken pain killer. All the methods I used were not working, some even made things worse.

Medicines I have tried.

List of medicines I have tried
1. Sensodyne (to improve my gum)
2. chinese medicine
3. mouth drop (only relieve pain for awhile)
4. Antibacterial mouthwash (it made thing worse)
5. bonjela (useless, only relieve pain for awhile)
6. Omeprazole (effective for the first few times, relieve hyper-acidic stomach)
7. Antibiotic
8. Vitamin C

The previous post was talking about I went to the government clinic and treated by unprofessional doctor. While this post is going to talk about my consultation with private hospital specialists. I consulted a physician in Pantai Hospital in Ipoh for advice, and he suggested me to do a blood test. However, I was required to go back on another day to get my result. He checked my heartbeat as well, and according to him my heartbeat is different from normal people and it's better for me to do a ultrasonic diagnosis to make sure it's not anything serious. He even asked me to be admitted for a thorough check-up. I refused, because I do not have so much of money and I do not have medical insurance to claim.

RM259.40 for the 1st consultation and medication, as well as blood test.

So today, I went back to obtain the medical report. Physician told me there is nothing wrong with my body, and all my organs are working well. However, due to difficulty to consume proper meal, my body has no carbohydrate to produce energy and now it's burning fats to generate energy. I thought it is a good thing at least but he told me it isn't because my Ketone (I have no idea of what is it) rate is 10 times higher than standard.

He cannot find the cause of my recurring ulceration (also known as aphthous ulcer and Canker ulcer) then he referred me to an ENT (ear, nose, throat) specialist. ENT specialist oulled out my tongue and checked out all the hidden ulcers I got. He was very rough and the pain was really killing me. The worse thing is, I am required to go back again on next Monday. T.T

more medicines.

List of medicines given by specialist.
1. mouthwash (more cooling and pain relief)
2. Omeprazole (this time doctor asked me to eat before meal)
3. Difflam (lonzenges, not effective)
4. Multivitamin
5. A lot of pills

RM201.20 this time

I have spent RM500 for medication and consultation this week, and one more appointment to meet on next Monday. Fuck! I regret for not having any medical card or insurance!! My advice, if you are poor, make sure you have a healthy body. If not, you will be poorer.

Unprofessional Doctor

I suffered of serious ulceration and it caused sore throat and swollen tongue. I felt only pain when I eat and bitter when I drink. In fact, this is the worst ulceration I ever get.

So I decided to go for medical consultation at government clinic. Thanks to my friend who is kind enough to send me. We reached the clinic about 10am this morning and registration took about 20 minutes. It's understandable if public service is slower than private one, so we waited patiently.

While waiting for my turn to see doctor, I noticed an extraordinary phenomenon. Let picture explains the story.

Pak Lah still the Prime Minister

I wonder if the clinic staffs are too loyal to Pak Lah or they are so outdated that they don't even notice that the outside world has already changed the prime minister?

When I went into the room, the doctor asked what's wrong with me. I cannot speak, so my friend spoke to him on behalf of me. He told the doctor I have serious sorethroat, and I feel pain even if i speak. Then the doctor checked my mouth, and my temperature. He even checked my pulse with a very traditional-chinese-medicical-hall-way by using only fingers to feel my pulse instead of stethoscope.

Then he kept quiet and started to write, putting his head on his arms like a bored school boy forced to do his homework.

Then he gave me the medical perscription and asked me to claim my medicine. Surprisingly, he gave me cough syrup! What the fuck? My friend and I had a shock because I didn't cough, I have serious ulceration, and isn't it he supposed to give me something that can serve as pain-relief, and something that kill bacteria? Then the pharmacist asked me to go consult the doctor once more, and so I did.

We went into the room again and he just changed the perscription straightly after we told him that I have ulcer. What the fuck? Where is his professionalism? Does he even give a fuck about his patients?
