BERSIH 3.0 A Riot?
While waiting in dental clinic yesterday, I had a talk with a mid-age couple. They told me that they went to BERSIH 3.0 assembly earlier to show support. When they asked me if I attended too, I said no. They asked why didn't I go, I did not say anything, I was ashamed to admit that I was afraid.
I broke the silence and asked them what made them joined, they said they were too ignorant and did nothing about the government for too long, for the future of their children they must do something now. I was once again put into silence.
I am afraid because I know the game too well, we'll have to bleed in order to win. The authority is too afraid of the people so they resolve to violence; while the people are so powerless that their voices will not be heard and their stories will be twisted in favor of the government.
The journey to revolution and reformation will not be safe and peaceful, but I promise I'll not be afraid anymore. Because when the people should not fear their government, the government should fear the people.

The higher education system in these countries has become like a theatre in which some people decided to stand to get a better view, prompting others behind them to stand. Once enough people stand, everyone has to stand, which means that no one is getting a better view, while everyone has become more uncomfortable.

Bersih 3.0? Not again?
After Bersih 2.0 on 9th of July, the organizer is planning for another round of peaceful protest at Kuala Lumpur on 28th of April. Like it or not, Bersih Rally is political and it is pro-opposition.
I am not sure if it is a good idea to go on to the street again. UMNO has experienced it and they are prepared this time. The government is not afraid to allow the assembly after seeing the "mildness" of the way Malaysians protest. In a nutshell I do not see the impact of such act, nothing has changed since people hit the street last year.
Furthermore, the upcoming Bersih 3.0 does not seem to be getting more attention from netizens, unlike the previous Bersih 2.0 where Malaysian netizens flooded Facebook with yellow color profile picture and information related. Maybe it is not "trendy" anymore?
The fact is not only the electoral system needs reformation, but all whole political system. Low transparency, poor accountability and lack of powerful watchdog groups that can question government's suspicious spending and decision making. Non-partisan watchdog group is almost nonexistence. I am looking forward to the rise of such non-partisan that can scrutinize government's activities.

Government Gives Me Money!
Government seems generous in its recent act of giving out RM200 book vouchers to tertiary level students, and also RM500 to senior citizens and low-income families with terms and conditions. The total payout amounts to RM1.1 billion for 5.5 million students and RM1.8 billion for 3.4 million qualified households. Do not forget the government also gives increments to civil servants and daycare allowance with conditions, indeed a brilliant way to spend money.
Debate?
MCA's Chua Soi Lek and DAP's Lim Guan Eng had a debate yesterday 18/2/2012 with the title "Malaysian Chinese at Political Crossroads".
As you all have seen, it's basically not a debate but more like two big kids pointing fingers to each other. Meanwhile the popular kid with his gang was in better position to literally bully the small and apparently weaker kid.
The "debate" was equally interesting on stage and among the audience, and apparently MCA has got better and more supportive crowd to back their president up.
A few people has made fame and one of the most discussed figure is undoubtedly Jessie Ooi.
I have no intention to mention again what she has done during the Q&A session, as I reckon by now you all must have known but I would like to discuss about the behaviors of fellow Malaysian netizens. The 2 photos above are circulating on FACEBOOK, mocking the silly questioner. FACEBOOK pages were opened for the same reasons.
Then I personally searched for her profile/pages and I found these:
Her page and the page she made just to fight against other opposing netizens (which I find it doggy, more like a page created by some pranksters to ruin her reputation). Some photos in her album are showing her giving away angpau to old-folks and apparently she is actively participating in political activities.
While you fellow netizens and keyboard warriors mocking her on FACEBOOK, she has actually done something good to those old folks whom got angpau from her (whether the money belongs to her is another story), and she is doing somethings that align with her believe and her faith in MCA. What have you done? Have you registered to vote?
She might have asked a very stupid question in a silly manner, but I don't see the any intelligence in mocking her and criticizing her over the internet neither. The best way to respond to her is like how Lim Guan Eng did, ignore her.

Student threaten to bomb Najib's helicopter
GEORGE TOWN: A 24-year-old university student has been detained for questioning after threatening to bomb Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s helicopter in a Facebook posting. George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the Universiti Sains Malaysia student was brought in to the district police headquarters in Patani Road for questioning at about 1.30pm yesterday. In the latest status update on his Facebook profile, it was written “najib is coming to our campus ... let’s bomb his helicopter...” source
So now Najib is warning everyone on internet not to talk bad of him because you are responsible for everything you post and share on internet, even if it's meant to be joke or sarcasm (or known facts that you can't prove). Calling him corrupted, killer, liar, najis or whatever nick name would probably be an invitation for a defamation lawsuit. Watch out millions of you out there!
Nevertheless, the news left me stunned for a few seconds.... What kind of bomber would announce his plan to the world in such a impromptu manner? Based on the grammar he used, the style of writing, and his background info the police should know that the fella cannot be a threat to Najib's life, don't they study profiling in police academy? Even a ordinary people like me I have watched enough CSI, CIA, Criminal Mind, FBI, X-File, Lie to Me, and a more American series to know a bit of profiling?

The End of 2011
Finally year 2011 has come to an end and as usual people tend to revising the past 1 year to see how many plans they made for the year have actually worked out.
In nut shell, I have actually accomplished my resolutions for the year.
1. Finally I know how to swim, but only breaststroke so I'll be learning freestyle in the upcoming year. Self-learning is self-helping.
2. I graduated with a second upper class degree. Although it's not first class honours but judging by increasing a 2.91 CGPA by 0.12 points in the last semester I believe I did not too bad.
3. I got a job offer and secured a place in FSTEP just with one interview, guess I'm employable.
4. I got a job in money broking firm, which symbolizes the first step of getting myself to become a true banker. Personal banker ain't banker, please.
5. I realized how inadequate am I but still working on improving myself.
Guess 2011 is a memorable and fruitful year after all. Thanks to all the people who love me, and people that believe in me. Also thanks to people who dislike me and backstabbers, you have taught me valuable lessons in life.

Prime Minister Mocks BERSIH's Supporter
Below is brief translation of what Najib has said in response to BERSIH 2.0 rally held on 9th of July:
Only a little bit of tear gas, but faces look like got beaten up so violently.
And then videos and photos are being uploaded onto Youtube.
Last night, *** Mahyuddin showed me, he accessed Youtube and showed me a lot of this and that (about BERSIH 2.0 rally).
They (BERSIH suppoters) look like really got beaten up badly and then hospitalized.

BERSIH 2.0 oppressed by government?
Whether you are interested in politic, you should be concerned about BERSIH. It's a movement to demand for cleaner election processes and procedures. The objectives are as following:
1. Clean the electoral roll, no more buy-election
2. Reform postal ballot, all must be allowed to vote by postal ballot if cannot physically present in Malaysia
3. Use of indelible ink, no more fraud vote
4. Minimum 21 days campaign period, allow candidates to convey message clearly and throughoutly
5. Free and fair access to media, no more Utusan's bias
6. Strengthen public institutions, no more Teoh Beng Hock
7. Stop corruption, no more RM1.8million facebook fan page.
8. Stop dirty politics, no more sodomy no more sex tape.
However, this peaceful rally has been marked as illegal by Ministry of Home Affairs and Polis Diraja Malaysia thereby violated the freedom of assembly as guaranteed by Malaysian constitution, because PDRM has openly declared that no permit will be given to BERSIH 2.0 even before the application is submitted.
The government is obviously adopting a double standards because no action is taken against UMNO youths whom gathered in front of PKR Penang office. Extremists who proclaime themselves as PATRIOT also threaten to burn down PKR headquarter if BERSIH 2.0 rally goes on. Silat guru, Omar Din aka Mahaguru also threatens to wage war against BERSIH activists. Many BERSIH supporters have been arrested for wearing the official t-shirt as PDRM claims it is illegal. There are many more extremists defaming the rally by calling it KOTOR or dirty in Malay, say that it is a demonstration to save Anwar Ibrahim from sodomy charge.
If you are planning to join the rally please be alert as I expect there might be people whom hired to create chaos hiding in BERSIH peaceful crowd. These people are paid to give BERSIH 2.0 a bad name so ban against the rally and any future peaceful demonstration can be justified.
